There are always embarrassing moments in our lives. Those moments help make us who we are. However, sometimes those moments can be more than just embarrassing, they can be an indication of a severe financial problem. Such is the case when you try to pay for a meal, only to have your credit declined because your line of credit was reduced.
When this happens, it is time to get things in order to repair your credit cards and find out why you had your credit reduced. Your credit limit is only reduced if you have a poor credit score, so now begins the process of fixing your credit. The first thing you need to look at is how much of your credit you have used, compared with how much credit you have. You want to keep your available credit to 70 percent at least. This means that if you have a $1,000 credit limit, you should keep your used credit to $300 and below.
You also need to start paying off your credit cards. If you can, transfer the balance from your high interest cards to lower interest cards so that you can minimize how much you pay each month. By lowering your interest payments, you make it easier to concentrate on lowering the balance on your credit card.
While you are paying off your credit cards, you should also stop using the credit cards. At this point, you should only use your credit cards for emergencies. For everyday purchases, try to use cash or a debit card. Keep this policy until you have lowered your balance to below 30 percent.
Credit cards can be difficult to deal with when you have several cards and you have been overspending on them. However, our company is there to offer debt settlement solutions that will help you.
